The lifestyle disorders like PUS, GERD, obesity, and substance & alcohol abuse constitute the vast majority of patients visiting surgeons, physicians, and gastroenterologists. The upper and lower GI endoscopy is a very important modality in the diagnosis and treatment of these lifestyle disorders. This course will cater to the needs of those confident surgeons and physicians who want to be completely involved and in control of the treatment of their patients. In this course, they will learn, the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the upper and lower GI endoscopy. The trainee will learn the video endoscopes design, handling, cleaning, and disinfection. They will learn the basic upper and lower GI endoscopy techniques including the preparation and pre-medications of the patients. They will learn about indications, contraindications, and complications of the upper and lower GI endoscopy. They will learn interpretations of endoscopic findings, tissue biopsy, and its handling. They will learn techniques of endoscopic haemostasis, esophageal variceal ligation, hemoclipping, foreign body removal, endoscopic dilatation, polypectomy, PEG, and many more including ERCP.
