FMAS (Fellowship Course in Minimal Access Surgery) or advanced training course in laparoscopic surgery will be helpful in learning intracorporeal and extracorporeal suturing, knotting with ipsilateral port position, tissue retrieval techniques, and port closure techniques. Students will learn about various video capture devices and software used in movie making and video editing of laparoscopic procedures. In the advanced course, the surgeon will learn in OT environment - laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair TAPP & TEP, MIPH or stapler hemorrhoidectomy, and ventral hernia repair with laparoscopic IPOM technique. In the advanced course, the gynecologist will learn in OT environment laparoscopic sterilization, laparoscopic salpingectomy, laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy, laparoscopic salpingo-oophorectomy, laparoscopic ovarian drilling, laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) and total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH). Gynecologists will also learn the instrument used and various procedures done in diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy. The pediatric surgeon will learn laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic repair of diaphragmatic hernia, laparoscopic hernia repair, and laparoscopic orchidopexy. The urologist will learn laparoscopic varicocelectomy and laparoscopic nephrectomy.
