Minute to Minute Timetable of Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy
During the training, residents take a direct role in patient preparation, the performance of endoscopy, and postoperative management. The cognitive milestones include bowel prep; moderate sedation; identification of pathology; management of findings; complication avoidance; and complication management.
The residents will receive comprehensive training, focusing on basic upper and lower endoscopy, which will equip them with valuable skills within the endoscopy suite. Additionally, they will gain exposure to endoscopy procedures in both ICU and operating room settings, enhancing their clinical expertise. Moreover, active involvement in multidisciplinary GI meetings, will provide them with a well-rounded education in gastroenterology. This comprehensive training will prepare them for successful careers as specialists in GI.
